Stratton Court Wedding Photographer

Kelly and Greg had winter wedding at the beautiful Stratton Court in Oxfordshire. From a Jurassic Park-themed surprise to a whole lot of glitter and neon, their wedding was packed with personality and unforgettable moments.

Kelly and I actually go way back! We were friends on LiveJournal (I know, I know!) as teenagers and have followed each other on Instagram ever since. It was such a delight (and a bit surreal) to be the one capturing her wedding day after all these years. This came with some added benefits that Kelly sent me photos of her gorgeous wedding dress before the day, telling me she wanted to wear it everyday. I'm sure you agree she looked absolutely amazing, even if she was battling with a horrible cold (which she may have given to me...!). Speaking of outfits, Greg added some personality to his and his groomsmen's suits with The Simpsons lapel pins based on their personalities.

Stratton Court is a dream venue for any wedding photographer, with lots of cosy areas, beautiful countryside surroundings and a getting ready room right in the heart of things. Kelly and Greg added some modern and fun charm to the lovely setting with neon, vibrant flowers and glitter balls. Am I obsessed with that sparkly flag behind the top table? Oh yes.

The ceremony was held in a window lined room, with a floral and neon display at the top of the aisle that could have graced the pages of a magazine. But the real star of the show was Kelly’s Jurassic surprise. As the music started and everyone prepared for her grand entrance, she tricked Greg by having Jurassic Park’s iconic theme play instead. To everyone’s surprise, a guest dressed as a dinosaur made his way down the aisle, leaving Greg and the guests in stitches. Moments later, Kelly appeared to the ‘real’ entrance music, to Greg's relief - who had been a bit panicked that they were playing the wrong music.

In the evening, it was time to get cosy, with a huge fire pit and marshmallows, fun with sparklers and board games on every table. But, I didn't actually see anyone playing the games because the party kicked off with plenty of energy. I'm not big on cheesy wedding photos, but cheesy wedding hits on the dance floor? That's a different story - their DJ kicked off with some classics like the Macarena and Saturday Night, followed by a bride/groom dance-off.

Kelly and Greg’s wedding was the perfect blend of humour, heart, and style. From the dinosaur prank to the sparkler send-off, their day was a testament to how much fun a wedding can be. Stratton Court provided the perfect setting for their winter celebration and their unique touches made it unforgettable. As a Stratton Court wedding photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a more delightful day to document.
