Wedding Photography at Sandon Manor
Located in a sleepy Hertfordshire village, Sandon Manor is essentially your own wedding camp for the weekend. Sandon Manor only have one wedding a weekend, giving you run of the site for the whole weekend, with the main house and Dovecote to stay in, you can have all the important people staying with you before and after the wedding day.
Sandon Manor is a relatively new wedding venue…and it shows (in all the best ways). From the air conditioned disco room, drape lined ceremony room and lots of different spaces to escape to in bad weather.

Hi, I’m Hannah, a wedding photographer in St Albans with over a decade of experience. I specialise in real, fun, never awkward wedding photography. I know you don’t want to spend your whole wedding holding a fake smile for photos, so I make sure your posed photos are speedy, fun and don’t make you cringe.
Some Sandon Manor Favourites
Sandon Manor has you covered, rain or shine, for perfect photos. There are so many spaces for your couple and group portraits. Plus – most importantly – a ton of opportunities for candids!

The bar | rainy day approved
One of the biggest questions I get as a wedding photographer is “what if it rains?” At Sandon Manor, that’s no problem, you could have your photos in the ceremony room, under the canopy in the courtyard, the main house, but my favourite is the main barn and specifically the bar. Those green tiles are just my favourites!

In front of the main house
The lawn in front of the main house is perfect for confetti photos, large group photos and you get some gorgeous light here in the evenings. Basically, it’s a great spot and you get to pretend you live in a manor house for a moment!
For a rainy day friendly option, going inside the house into the living rooms at the front makes for great photos with those huge windows.

Around the grounds
Going for a wander is strongly encouraged, especially if we’re chasing evening light. There are lots of little nooks with different feelings around the venue. I always love popping out for 10 minutes with my couples in the evening (usually between the meal and dancing) for some more relaxed couple portraits once you’ve got a lot of the nerve wracking stuff out of the way.

The courtyard | rainy day approved-ish
I love the courtyard for smaller group photos. The black barns make for a great backdrop. And the main bonus of the courtyard is that you’re near all your guests. The photos above were taken on a rainy day, where we rushed out in the break between showers, with easy access to the shelter of the canopies in the courtyard if it started up again.
