The Waterside Venue Same Sex Wedding Photographer

This was my first wedding at The Waterside in Rickmansworth. But, actually, not my first blog there because my blog drafts are vast.

It also wasn't my first meeting with Shell and Amileigh, as I met them at Shell's sisters wedding some years ago when I was her photographer (she's the gorgeous brunette in the sparkly dress). I love getting to photograph the same family again (and, yes, I did go back to see what they all looked like last time I photographed them).

Outdoor ceremony at The Waterside

Shell and Amileigh had the epitome of a laidback wedding. Their outdoor ceremony was carried out by one of their friends, who could not keep the tears in. It was full of laughter, tears and sun. It included a hand fasting and then a bubble exit.

A Rainbow-Themed Same Sex Wedding

OK, apologies for the heading, the Google God's love this kind of thing. But, this wedding had a lot of colour. Notice the rainbow flag ties on the men, Amileigh's colourful hair and tattoos brought all the colour, along with the flowers that she lovingly attached to her dress herself. Shell referred to herself as the "broom" throughout the day as she chose to wear trousers and braces.

Shell and Amileigh's wedding was a real testament to how touching and joyful a laid-back wedding can be. Often it seems that people think that a casual wedding means you're treating the act of getting married itself casually. But, that couldn't be further from the truth. This wedding was so full of raw emotion, love and laughter. Like a gorgeous backgarden barbecue, with more crying and better outfits.

These two are clearly not just in love but absolute best friends and it was a pleasure to see that connection, as well as how happy everyone else was for them. This wedding was the best.
