Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding Photography – Lisi & PJ

Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding Photographer

I love a London town hall wedding...and Old Marylebone Town Hall might be my favourite venue (OK, tied with Islington Town Hall).

I've taken photos at Old Marylebone Town Hall before, but, this was my first visit to The Knightsbridge Room, which seats an intimate 30 people. Pro tip for those of you booking a wedding photographer in The Knightsbridge Room at Old Marylebone Town Hall. Photographers aren't allowed to stand, so you'll need to make sure there's a seat for them - ideally in a good spot.

Anyway, enough venue talk, let me talk about Lisi and PJ for a moment. They're the warmest people.

And...yes...Lisi is wearing a wedding cape!!! I may never get over the excitement of her saying, "oh yeah, one more thing," after getting dressed and putting on a cape! She also had outfit changes throughout the day. Switching to a fur stole for the reception and eventually changing into a totally different outfit (purple dress, with incredible shoes and ankle socks!) for the dancing.

This was a January wedding, but the weather stayed dry. So we got to go for a little wander to find some peeling paint on side streets behind Old Marylebone Town Hall...we could got the gorgeous, grand surroundings of the town hall and then something a bit grittier in the couple shots.

When Lisi and I first chatted about her wedding photography, they hadn't confirmed a venue yet. The couple knew they wanted somewhere within walking distance of Old Marylebone Town Hall, but, couldn't decide between a pub or a hotel.

They landed on The Holmes Hotel because, to quote Lisi, it has a kitchen at a house party vibe. And it really does. The wedding had the full run of the basement, which has a large room for the wedding breakfast and dancing. But, also, a kitchen to hang out in and smaller rooms to have a quiet chat in or take a breather. I loved wandering around all the different rooms and seeing what was going on in each of them.

These two were an absolute delight. They're such a warm couple and all of their guests were just lovely too. There were so many favourite moments to choose from, but, if I had to pick just one, it would be the first dance. Watching Lisi's face as the singing started was incredible. PJ has secretly recorded himself singing their first dance song. He told her he had gone to a conference and actually he was at a recording studio getting it done properly.

I could gush about this wedding forever, but, I'm going to just carry on with the pictures now...!
