It is unusual that I mention flowers and inanimate objects first, but, I just want to gush about the flowers! When I arrived at Orchardleigh House in Frome, Somerset, Laura had not moved to the bridal suite yet, so, I wandered around the preparations going on downstairs, photographing place settings and flowers. Right before my eyes the entrance hall was transformed into something like a fairytale - chairs lined the room coated in roses, a gorgeous staircase, lined with more roses and the stationery, handmade by Laura's very talented sister, Emma, just beautiful. I felt a little like I was in a Midsummer's Night Dream (but, without the drama). Speaking of the incredible levels of pretty, the dresses! Laura's dress is just so elegant and beautiful and then the vintage style bridesmaid dresses - oh gosh, I completely fell in love with both. Laura and Dave's story is a glorious one, right out of a rom-com, both lovers of musicals, they embarked upon a production of The Sound of Music, Laura was Maria and Dave the Captain, after marrying on stage seven times, Dave made his move and the rest is history... As a surprise, Laura and Dave's am-dram friends surprised them with a rendition of Seasons of Love before their first dance. Music was a key part of the day, Laura walked down the aisle to Moon River (I battled valiantly not to cry through this) and they had a string quartet throughout the ceremony, reception and wedding breakfast (where they took requests), they were truly wonderful.
