This is a very special wedding for me to blog (so I've tried very hard not to write a small essay before the photos) because these people are my friends! I always feel very privileged to be invited to play such an important part in a couples big day and even more so with Ailsa and Matt. I had such fun throughout the day getting to photograph some of my favourite people. I also enjoyed the tequila shots and terrible dancing I did once my camera was safely in my hotel room. Anyway, Ailsa and Matt were married at St Mary's Church in Nottingham, which is an incredibly gorgeous church, followed by the reception at the beautiful Risley Hall Hotel in Derbyshire. I think you'll agree that Ailsa made a stunning bride (that dress is just made for her!) and her bridesmaids look incredible also! The main room looked just perfect - there were a variety of different centrepieces and lovely muted flowers everywhere you looked (some of which ended up on my coffee table later - lucky me!)! The table names were all films and I really loved how they were matched to the different groups on them - I was on Harry Potter, which I was obviously over-excited about and the head table was Love Actually. Ailsa and Matt really got it right with the music too - they walked up and down the aisle to a string quartet, who also played during the drinks reception, then there was some lovely acoustic guitar throughout the wedding breakfast and Stand By Me as their first dance. I spent most of the editing process thinking how super gorgeous my friends are and smiling like an idiot at all the fond memories of the day. It was such a delight to cover this wedding! Congrats again, Ailsa and Matt!
