Ben & Jerry’s Sundae Festival 2011

On Sunday my boyfriend and I went to the Ben & Jerry's Sundae festival on Clapham Common. Part of me feels I should resent [my boyfriend] paying to witness a day of shameless advertising, but it was such a slick operation and such a master-piece of marketing, that I was rather impressed with the whole thing. And I got to see Maximo Park. I know two Gary Numan songs, I can hardly be called a fan. But, we both really enjoyed his set, the way he just seemed to be enjoying it so much was contagious. Gary Numan at Sundae Festival 2011 Gary Numan at Sundae Festival 2011 When I first saw Maximo Park at Glastonbury in 2005 I spent the entire set grinning like an idiot, proclaiming, "oh I love this song," and falling head over heels with frontman Paul Smith. He came on in a suit and hat, leapt about with incredible agility and sang a lot of songs I love. I decided right there that I would marry him and every time I go to see them I'm reminded that I really do have a massive crush on Paul Smith and want to run off with him into the sunset. This set was no exception and this time I had the great pleasure of sorting through my photos for hours... I thoroughly enjoyed it and intend to go back next year (and buy some of that new coconut-y ice cream I now can't remember the name of...).
