St Mary Magdalene Church, Willen, Milton Keynes & Holiday Inn, Newport Pagnell Wedding Photography – Natasha & Ryan
I first met Natasha and Ryan when they came to St Albans to have a drink in my favourite pub and chat over the day. Having met them I was just so excited about their day - they were having a route master (which will never cease to please me), their first dance song would be One Day Like This by Elbow (which, on the day, brought tears to my eyes - such a perfect choice for a first dance) and most importantly, they are incredibly warm people that you just want to spend time with...
Natasha and a lot of the couples family were staying at the Holiday Inn in Newport Pagnell the night before, which was also the reception venue. This meant that a lot of the bridal party were wandering in and out as Natasha got ready. Natasha was incredibly calm and said something that I will definitely bear in mind when I eventually get married - that she was determined to just enjoy the day now and not worry or get hung up on anything that might/does go wrong.
On the short drive to St Mary Magdalene Church in Willen, Milton Keynes, it began to rain. Which made for some great photos of the flower girls and page boys trying to shelter from the wet. The church is stunning - when I walked in I was thinking "what a lucky photographer you are" - pink walls with gold embellishment and plenty of natural light. The horse-shoe shape of the church was lovely too - the way that the bridal party and close family were surrounding the bride and groom really gave weight to the idea of the union of two families as well as two individuals.
It was a quick dash out of the rain for the bride and groom so we didn't get as many group shots in the lovely church grounds as we might have liked, but, we had these later on in the evening when we got back to the hotel.
I cannot stress enough what a great time I had at this wedding - Natasha and Ryan's friends and family were just as warm and lovely as they are - I was made to feel like part of the family and found myself not only smiling the whole day, but catching myself grinning all through the editing process too. A special mention to Natasha's Nan who pulled some epic Vogue style poses every time I pointed the camera at her! I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome!
A massive congratulations to Natasha and Ryan!
