St Mary's Church Painswick Wedding Photographer

Ellie and Josh got married at St Mary's Church in Painswick.

Painswick is an absolutely beautiful town and the church is set at the heart in a gorgeous location. Oh and the tree-lined entrance to the church is something else!

I loved how central to the wedding the ceremony was - their faith is very important to the couple - so they spent a couple of hours at the church.

In addition to the ceremony, they had a bake-off competition in the church. This wasn't just a table with cakes, it was serious business, with scoring cards and a prize awarded at the reception. Speaking of, there was also a mini competition over how much the guests knew Ellie and Josh while the signing of the register was going on.

This wedding had one big first for me - a streaker during the ceremony. While this turned out not to be a joke by a guest, but a stranger wandering in naked, it couldn't go without mentioning because it was quite the event. Some of the guests very quietly shuffled him out of the church and the couple only vaguely knew something was happening in the background.

We returned to Ellie's parents house for couple photos - including a visit to their cat. Their house overlooks the most stunning views of the hills. We then took a wander along tree-lined country roads to Sheepscombe Village Hall for the reception.

The reception was held at Sheepscombe Village Hall, with a marquee outside and a proper summer party feel. There was a bouncy castle and ice cream truck, oh and the wedding breakfast was paella.

I loved how bright, colourful and vibrant this wedding was. From Ellie's multi-coloured bouquet, green shoes and flower-crown, to Josh's bold tartan suit. It perfectly matched the vibe of the wedding - just a whole lot of fun, laughter and no one was taking themselves too seriously.
