Oonagh and Craig were married at The Abbey Cathedral in St Albans, this cathedral holds a special place in my heart - it holds fond memories of singing in the choir at school Christmas carol services and was visible from my bedroom window until my recent move, it's also often the landmark I see in the distance after long car rides and it makes me smile knowing I'm home. Aside from that, it's just absolutely stunning, who wouldn't want to be married somewhere as simultaneously grand and imposing, yet intimate? So, of course, when the couple contacted me about photographing their wedding, I was very excited as I hadn't had the chance to work there before and it didn't disappoint! Their reception was held at Buckettsland Farm in Borehamwood in Hertfordshire, a lovely secluded spot so near to some big towns, that feels like it could be in the middle of nowhere. The moves on this dance floor were simply epic, I cannot begin to describe how much fun I'm sure they all had once I left! Definitely the kind of moves that make me terribly ashamed of my own ineptitude on the dancefloor. Everything about this day was just...easy, laid-back and great fun. The sun was shining, everyone looked absolutely stunning and there was such a comfortable, sunny afternoon feel about the whole day. Oonagh and Craig's e-mail on receiving their photos really did put a big smile on my face - "I'm not sure what to say! Your photos are STUNNING...thank you! You've managed to capture the day exactly as we remember it, but with so many little extras that we didn't have the opportunity to stop and notice. You have an incredible talent and a fantastic eye for a great photo...we would be delighted to recommend you to anyone...Thanks again, you've given us a wonderful set of photos and captured so many happy memories that we will always cherish." It's perhaps a wee bit cheesy of me to say, but, messages like that are why I adore my job! This was definitely one of my favourite weddings of last year.
