Michelle and Oliver's engagement shoot took place just before bonfire night, so I was very excited to hear they'd come prepared with sparklers (as well as a variety of props) - we had a lot of fun trying to get a heart that looked like a heart. We went to the Odney Club, which is a private members only club for John Lewis employees - the grounds are beautiful and very varied, with lots of cute little things to discover - like a bench inside a tree. Bit exciting to be there as Michelle's Mum's guest! I do love an engagement shoot - it's an opportunity to catch up on the latest in the wedding plans and get photos with a different backdrop. It's particularly good for exposure to different seasons - Michelle and Oliver are getting married in summer, so, having lovely autumn leaves in the background is a nice touch - also, I just love autumn and all those warm colours! Towards the end of the post you'll see some adorable little pots with "25-12-11" on them - these are Michelle's advent calendar from last year - Oliver had put chocolates in all the pots and in the last was the engagement ring (which is hanging there if you squint!). How lovely is that?! At the end of our shoot Michelle and Oliver wanted to have a "leaf fight", we soon learned - to Michele's detriment, that calling it a leaf fight awoke the child in Oliver and he was definitely victorious in leaf throwing.
