Things have been very slow on the blog, partly because I’ve been super busy covering lots of gorgeous weddings, but, also because I’ve been working on a new website. So, please feel free to have a little poke around, the galleries have been updated so there’s lots of new and pretty things to look at.
For a wedding photographer summer means one thing; beautiful weddings every weekend and a whole lot of editing during the week. Sadly this means that my blog gets abandoned until later in the year when I can start to blog everything and oh my, do I have some absolutely gorgeous weddings to share with you!
I wanted to share some little sneak peeks at what I’ve been up to lately – usually these would be shots of the couple together, but, for this post I thought I’d concentrate on some of those in-between moments because generally those are actually the bits I remember, not the fifteen minutes the couple and I steal away together for some posed photos, but, the laughter, tears and epic dance moves.
A little while ago I received an email from Oscar about his engagement shoot – he and Alice really wanted to include our gorgeous local bluebell woods at Heartwood in St Albans, Hertfordshire. I was very excited, I love this place, I have such fond memories of it as a child and I think there’s something so magical about those couple of weeks where bluebells spring to life and then disappear. Between us we managed to accurately predict when the bluebells would come out – even if we did have to suffer a bit of mud and some very cold fingers!
Alice and Oscar are returning to Alice’s home in Melbourne for their wedding and I’m sure it will be such a gorgeous day, I’m so pleased to have been a part of their engagement shoot.
Oh and seeing as I have such a soft spot for this bluebell wood, here’s a little bit of a glimpse at my brother and I a good twenty-odd years ago in the very same.
