I’ve decided to split this post into two as I realised that I had a daunting amount of photos to show you – part one takes place at Sutton House.

When Joanna contacted me about her wedding at Sutton House in East London she called it “fate” when I mentioned that I’d touched on Sutton House in an Art History module I did at university… Sutton House is a really beautiful and unusual setting for a wedding – the brides room had all these lovely little details and the courtyard where the party had drinks was so sweet. Not the mention those amazing red walls in the ceremony room!

I met up with Joanna and Duncan at a coffee shop in Soho a couple of months before their wedding and they told me about their non-traditional “anti-wedding”. One of the traditions that they dropped was the formal shots, in fact, they wanted no posed shots at all, so, I got to spend all of my time having lots of fun people watching and snapping away as things happened. There was no massive dress, the bouquets and flowers were kept to a minimum, Joanna just had the one bridesmaid and arrived in a taxi and best of all, she walked down the aisle to the Biffy Clyro cover of Umbrella (even though the weather was gorgeous!)

I had my first ride on a Route Master bus at this wedding and I loved it! My boyfriend was so jealous (he loves public transport…)!

Stay tuned for the second part!!

Laura and Jon’s wedding was in-between Bath and Bristol, so, when they asked me to cover their wedding I saw the perfect opportunity to make a long weekend of it. My boyfriend was born in Bath and grew up in Bristol, so we stayed with his parents (his Mum makes a pretty amazing packed lunch!) and he showed me some of the sights (well, the suspension bridge…).

I absolutely love photographing wedding preparations – there’s such a buzz, a bit of chaos and a lot of emotional exchanges between friends and family. Laura had the whole Breconridge Bed & Breakfast just for the bridal party, spread over two floors, which was lovely and I have to say, all of the gorgeous sunlight streaming through the windows along with the super stunning Laura made it extra enjoyable for me to photograph.

Their venue was at The Water Mill at Priston Mill in Bath, well hidden through country roads and a really beautiful old water mill, with the cogs visible throughout the centre of the building. It was a beautiful day and the gardens were perfect for the cocktail hour and formal shots. There was also a kids play area behind Priston Mill where I snapped the groomsmen messing around in their tails.

Big congratulations to Laura and Jon!!

St Mary Magdalene Church, Willen, Milton Keynes, Wedding Photography

A quick (and somewhat delayed!) sneak peek of Natasha and Ryan’s wedding at St Mary Magdalene Church in Willen Village, Milton Keynes. You may be able to tell in the background that it’s a stunning church, but, never mind that, when you have the gorgeous Natasha and Ryan in the foreground! I had such an amazing time at this wedding – of course, weddings are generally pretty full of love and smiling family and friends, but, at Natasha and Ryan’s wedding it was infectious! I found myself grinning long after I’d left them dancing the night away! More about that later as long as lots of photos! Congratulations Natasha and Ryan!!
