Hertford Registry Office Wedding Photographer – Chloe & Liam

Hertford Registry Office Wedding Photographer
2023 was a Hertford Registry Office kind of year. Prior to last year I had only been there once (and I loved it). But, literally the day after Chloe and Liam's wedding, I was back there again for another wedding. And have been there again a couple more times since.

So, before I talk about how lovely these two are, I want to shout out the infamous arches at Hertford Registry Office. Honestly, registry offices (outside of big cities, especially) aren't always the most photogenic. Most will give you a bit of green space that we can work some photo magic with. But, Hertford Registry Office? Well, it has the arches...you'll see them in a moment. And they're gorgeous. You could be in some far off place. I've never seen anyone hanging around them. They're undercover if it's raining. I love them. OK, moving on...

Chloe and Liam booked me for a couple of hours, for their small intimate wedding, planned pretty last minute by wedding standards. And, honestly, I kind of wished I was staying way into the evening. It was exactly the vibe you want from a laidback trip to the registry office and then to a very nice pub. Lots of laughter, emotion, just their favourite people.

"Wow! Thank you Hannah, we are so happy we chose you, you really captured the energy of our day and all the laughs!"

Kite At The Red Hart Hitchin Wedding Photographer
After the registry office, we headed to Kite at the Red Hart in Hitchin. I've not photographed there before, but, had been to an event there with my Mum and we both talked about how lovely it would be for a wedding. We had glorious weather, so all the mingling and speeches were outside in the courtyard. And inside was maybe the best looking grazing table I've ever seen. Oh and donuts. So many donuts. More than enough for one per person.

Chloe posted a whole compilation of speech photos on her Instagram and I tell you what...I get it. These speeches were heartwarming and very funny. They flitted between tears and proper belly laughs. I'm sure I've talked about this on the blog before, but I love a speech away from the proper wedding breakfast - think standing around at a bar, everyone just gathered around. It makes it feel lower pressure and like you're having a chat with the group instead of something more intimidating.

Chloe is an illustrator, so she made the wedding stationery and gorgeous welcome sign, with a not so subtle nod to their cats.
I had the most fun at this wedding and love any wedding that proves you don't have to have all the wedding "stuff" in order to have a beautiful, meaningful day.
