Engagement photography at The Barbican in East London

Helen and Dom got married recently at Helen's parents home, it was all big fields, green and horses. When Dom contacted me about their engagement shoot he said he wanted to do the total opposite, "something grey and gritty." I instantly emailed back and said, "The Barbican!"

Outdoor weddings, barns and marquees are kind of my thing, I love some big fields, tall grass and golden evening light. So, it's rare I get to take moody photos. I've wanted to take photos at The Barbican for SO long! As soon as Dom sent me this message I got super excited, thinking about concrete, textures and shadows.

I'm going to save my gushing about how amazing this couple are or how much fun their wedding was (so much) for when I blog their wedding. But for now, let me say I have mega curly hair envy and that they totally nailed it when I asked them to "pose like a moody indie band."
